About object:

Mastis lake shore and the central part of Telšiai that had been waiting for investments for many decades finally received a proper solution. In 2013, the second phase of regeneration and clearing works of the abandoned and polluted territories of the town were completed. With this project the central point of the huge urban space – the town’s amphitheatre connecting the two recreational segments of the town – the eastern and the western – was formed. The Old Town of Telšiai was linked functionally while the reconstruction works of 5,000-seat regional Telšiai football and athletics stadium are coming to an end.
According to the architect A. Žebrauskas, who has worked on this project for many years, specialists have finally succeeded in “reconciling” the town and the lake that for so many years used to live as if fallen out with each other, and now have merged into a whole. In fact, the Old Town of Telšiai located on the high hill and the lake rippling at the foot of the hill look like two separate segments. 900-seat amphitheatre that has been formed on the slope created a spatial relationship – opened up a striking panorama of the lake Mastis and the surroundings. It is a unique structure of Lithuania intended for audiences and adapted for various cultural events, summer open-air cinema, concerts and performances.

From the amphitheater beyond Ežero street the pedestrian paths are laid in the direction of the lake in the form of rays. One of them leaning to the slope jumps resolutely down the steps and ramps, another one with long legs-columns hangs in space. In such a way a panoramic path is being formed. The urban composition is completed by a dominant – a vertical accent with a glass elevator. It closely couples the town with the lower level of Mastis lake. Here rest areas are designed on both sides, newly installed walking paths wind their way that compatibly knit up the urban fabric of the town.
