About object:

In the southern part of the seaport city, in the fragmented and monotonous evolvent of block apartment houses of Smiltelės Street, this administrative building distinguishes for its aesthetics of Post-modernist architecture confronting to the context. The volume fills one of the gaps in the street development forming a missing segment of the quarter.
At the maximum drawn aside from residential houses, the building closes the space of a courtyard of the apartment houses by making an angle against the busy street. The height of the building follows up with the parapet line of the adjacent five-storey blocks. The part of the building going to the depth of the quarter is by one floor lower. The building composition is clean, unshaded with details, created by three volumetric elements. The main volume is calm, replicating the metre of windows of the adjacent development, and contrasting with it by its white colour. A horizontal console glazed with dark glass that is hanging in the upper part of the façade facing to the street “leads” towards the main entrance organized from a driveway street.
The composition is crowned by a sculpturesque volumetric element towering on the roof above the main entrance, emphasised not only by its plastic shape, but also rich colour. The faceless environment is denied – quietly and culturally – by the expressive stylistic contradiction.
