About object:

Lithuanian territory on the Curonian Spit area at the border with the Russian Federation is completed with expressive customs building of original architecture. In the views of bird flight, an elongated structure plan is gracefully situated along the Nida – Smiltynės highway. By the way, the architect Arūnas Blūšius named the symbolic prototype of a bird that is waiting for long-distance flight as the main concept of the building.
The idea in building composition has been implemented using structural and form expressive means. Most emphasis is put on impressive metal roof that in the building projection by its form from the top apparently repeats a bird shape. Impression is intensified by symmetrical and emphatically constructive roof “wings”. The symbolic nature motif of bioforms is also recorded in planned structure.
Trying to classify, such architecture would most accurately correspond to the concept of organic architecture with clear manifestations of irrationality when expression, individualism, ease of expression and sculpturality are stressed.
