About object:

This is not a recreational building as it might appear at first glance, but the office in nature “Art and business synergy” (Lith. Meno ir verslo sinergija). The working space that opened its doors in 2015, in Subartėnai village, Elektrėnai municipality, stands out by its unusual urban solution. The shareholders of the wholesaler “Tegra” aiming to create this space three years ago held an architectural competition, where one of 11 participating teams of architects was the winner – “Vilniaus architektų studija” (Eng. Vilnius architects studio).

According to the designers, the solution was dictated by nature itself. The lake of Montis and an expressive site relief suddenly rising from the lake consists of three-levelled terraces with a total  difference of  heights of up to 16.5 m. Four-volumed complex was developed in the junction of the upper and middle terraces. The concept of individual triangular structures has arisen as a response to the surrounding scale by covering the volumes with sloping, grass roofing – these in some places as though totally immersed in the plot’s area. In fully opening facades of the central terrace directed to the lake patterns of the wooden boards are combined with large glass showcases elongated over the entire height of the building. The latter set in the main block intended for seminars during the summer may be opened up so that you could listen to the event by simply sitting on the lawn.

The office complex stands out not only with external solution, but also with its original interior. In the development of the internal spaces ecologic building materials have been used: cedar wood and white clay floor smeared with sesame oil and beeswax. Although white and gray colours prevail in the interior, there is space left for unexpected accents as well such as coloured roller blinds covering glass windows, which as if become stained-glass windows and instantly  interrupt the routine of daily life by creating a special mood.
