“Peugeot” Car Showroom and Service

At the important transport artery of Kaunas one is met by solid volume of minimalist architecture where “Peugeot” car showroom and service is located. Although being a building of relatively homogeneous rectangular planned configuration, the volume is expressively separated into the representative and utilitarian one. In its planned structure, the car interior by its ramp overflows to one meter lower car service space. On the second floor staff domestic premises are formed, and on the intermediate level between the showroom and service offices for administration are hoisted up.

The “face“ of car showroom is formed by enveloping the side facades with horizontally profiled metal panels. Glass plane of main facade expressively immersed under the cornice suspended in the air hitches the side facade thus opening the perspective of Islandijos highway of intensive traffic. Glass graphics is shaped through emphasis of horizontality of the facade. The main entrance to the car showroom is accentuated by horizontal insert openwork of sort of crumbling metal bands on the side facade.
