About object:

Complex of Veterinary Academy is one of the most of historically significant architectural objects with expressive exterior and interior spaces framework. Coherence of expansion of individual buildings or emergence of new ones is to be closely linked with the rest of the complex. When designing the science-purpose laboratory centre in Academy of Veterinary, the author resolved this important issue by choosing a principle of quiet contrast to existing impacts.
Nearby the historic building where laboratories on two floors were arranged, a spacious lobby of tinted glass was designed, subtly highlighted on the outside by plastically adjacent wall. Its soft sleek décor is an allusion to the animal’s body, which points to the function of an institution. Height play of individual architectural elements was delicately selected: plastic wall is clearly visible from the courtyard of the complex that sounds in the main facade just as subtle dominant in relation to the total volume of the building. The interpretation of animal theme is subtly continued in the main staircase with the luminaires of expressive “eyes” emerging on the ceiling and vertical motley band “slipping along” the wall.
