About object:

At the first glance, K. Indriūnas faced with a complex task – to create a house that would stand at the place of a former house, to be more precise, in the territory of an urban monument, in a historic centre of the town Anykščiai. In response to the historic environment, the architect restored the exterior of the old house by leaving the previous outline of foundations, but subtly altering its proportions and gently raising the roof, hereby providing the appearance of the new house with a grace.
According to the author, the exterior is characterized by the long-term novelty and architectural sterility. The elementary shape typical of a traditional residential house is emphasized by the contrast of elements and colours: the white-framed window openings and a roof covered with galvanized tin sheets that draw a bright contour line through the cherry-coloured house. The moderately selected details are traditional, but at the same time – modern.
The architect’s favourite minimalism dominates not only in the exterior, but also inside of the residential house. The modest building stodgy with details neither outside nor inside has successfully naturalized in the architectural environment of the small town.
