Residential House “Pine Branches”

About object:

An architectural expression of the building harmoniously situated among the trees of a pine forest was determined by the local context. The verticals of pine trunks climbing around have become the main inspirations of the authors and the interpretation of pine branches growing at different levels and interchanging with each other – the base of its compositional framework.

In this sensitive natural environment, the maximum program of the villa is projected. The bulky, almost of 700 sq m in area, but herewith dynamic volume is perceived very fragmentary, merged with the environment, disappearing between the pine trunks. The interchanging volumes of the ground floor and the first floor are dissociated by the principle of material and colour contrast. The lower part of the building “dissolves” in the reflections of dark mirror glass as if in a mist. Above it, the upper part of the villa slides up with its easy larch beam verticals and hangs between the pine trees. The integrity of the first floor is formed by the pushed blinds of the same vertical components. The organic, as if naturally formed volume is certainly the result of a purposeful creative process. In the international architectural competition „X ARCHIP International Award for Architecture 2011”, this creation was appreciated and awarded as the best project of an individual house.
