About object:

The building of the bank’s headquarters has arisen in the very important and prominent part of the city: it not only forms a foreground of a new centre of the city Vilnius on the right bank of the River Neris, but also connects the environment of the busy Constitution Avenue with the green recreational area of the riverside of Neris.

In accordance with the principle inherent to the property development on the right bank of Neris, the “Swedbank” office consists of an expressive lower horizontal part and a stable vertical set on it. Irregular, wavy silhouette of the lower part meets the lines of the natural conformation. Meanwhile, the altitude part composed of 14 and 16-story volumes interconnected with glass atrium distinguish by razor-edged, geometrized shapes, bright colours, and different textures.

The Municipality of Vilnius City requested that there should be also set out a new public space, when constructing the bank’s office. So, a terrace, which is set out on the roof of the lower part of the building revealing images of the River Neris and the old centre of the city – is now a popular gathering place for the townspeople. The object has smoothly stepped in to the existing urban context.
